of TIP 44
We are very pleased to announce that NDRI's researcher, Harry K. Wexler, Ph.D., is the Co-Chair of the Consensus Panel which developed the Treatment Improvement Protocol, TIP 44. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently released TIP 44, “Substance Abuse Treatment for Adults in the Criminal Justice System" with clinical guidelines for treatment counselors. TIP 44 provides information on state-of-the-art screening, assessments, treatment services and follow-up services for individuals in a variety of criminal justice settings, including: Full or partial supervision; probation; parole; or pretrial release. The TIP is also useful for criminal justice system personnel dealing with offenders who abuse alcohol or drugs.
