the 2006 CCNY/CUNY Jagna Sharff Award
NDRI congratulates Ms. Sandoval on her receipt of this award. The Jagna Sharff Award is given annually to a student who excels in the area of Urban Anthropology. Ms. Sandoval is an Ethnographic Data & Analysis Coordinator at NDRI and is currently working with Principal Investigator Samuel Friedman, PhD on a project funded by NIDA, “Staying Safe: Long-Term IDUs Who Avoided HIV & HCV” (R01 DA019383).
Ms. Sandoval expects to receive her BA from CCNY/CUNY in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a major in Sociology and minor in Anthropology, by December of 2006. Her specific interests include HIV/Hep C, substance abuse, and gender issues in urban society. After graduation, Ms. Sandoval will continue her studies and aims to obtain a Masters in Public Health.
