Dr. Jesse Dallery has joined NDRI’s Center for Technology and Health

NDRI is pleased to welcome Principal Investigator Jesse Dallery, PhD, who has joined the Center for Technology and Health. Dr. Dallery is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida, and a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Florida. Dr. Dallery has pioneered the development and evaluation of a highly innovative, internet-based behavioral intervention targeting cigarette smoking. This internet-delivered system provides a science-based, motivational incentives intervention to verify and reinforce smoking abstinence by breath carbon monoxide (CO) output. The system has been shown to promote high levels of engagement and high rates of sustained abstinence among heavy smokers. This innovation has the potential to eliminate distance as a barrier and thus allow for widespread dissemination of this effective behavioral intervention. Results from Dr. Dallery’s research encourage the application of the internet-based model to other health-related behavior.
